Search the company or service first
Use Photos search for the airline, store, venue, delivery service, or hotel. If you remember part of the code, try that too. Apple documents searching recognized text in its Photos guide.
Copy the code and verify every character
Open the screenshot and use Live Text to select the confirmation number. Compare the copied value to the image, especially for O and 0, I and 1, or punctuation. Apple’s Live Text guide covers copying recognized text.
Keep the details that make the code useful
Record the provider, date, account name, and purpose with the code. For reservations or tickets, use the official app, Wallet pass, email, or calendar event when those are supported and more reliable than a screenshot alone.
Index recurring screenshot records
Tagshot searches screenshot text on device and can group likely orders, travel items, and bills. The original stays in Photos, so you can verify the complete context before acting on a copied code.
Common questions
Can Live Text make a mistake in a confirmation number?
Yes. Recognition can confuse similar characters, especially in small or stylized text. Always compare the copied result with the screenshot.
Should I crop the screenshot to only the code?
Cropping can improve focus but may remove the provider, date, or account context. Preserve enough information to understand what the code belongs to.
Is Tagshot a replacement for the official ticket or booking app?
No. It helps retrieve screenshots. Use the provider’s official credential or app whenever that is required for entry, travel, or account access.
